My New Friend

So about a month ago, for some insane reason, I agreed to let Berkley get a Guinea Pig?! So we now have the new addition "Princess" to our household. Shortly into our adventure I realized what I had done....I had taken on another living, eating, breathing responsibility that Bentley would like to have as a snack??!! Great idea??!! Surprisingly, I have to admit that I have become somewhat attached to my new little friend. I like that when I come into the room and talk to her she squeaks and perches right up on her food dish to glance up at me. I love that when I hold her she is fat and furry and has a nose that moves so fast it tickles. I love that she appreciates a clean cage and fresh carrots by running around at a faster pace than her usual lazy stroll. So here is to my new friend Princess...wishing you many safe and happy days at the Higgins house!!

August 6,1994-August 6, 2009 ~ 15 Year Anniversary

15 years ago today I said "I Do" to my best friend. Today I reflect back on our vows and realize I really had no idea what those meant August 6, 1994. At that time, they were romantic....words of a promise to the person God had chosen for me. Today they are a reality...words that took the form of action. "For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health to death do us part". In 15 years we have lived out our vows as we tackled the death of Breece's mother, Breece's brain surgery, two extremely complicated pregnancies ending with two premature babies, a miscarriage, many financial ups and downs and 7 moves. The past 15 years has more importantly included many priceless memories, countless laughter, 2 unbelievably wonderful children and a love and friendship that can never be duplicated. Breece and I truly are soulmates. I am so thankful that God continues to bless our marriage and is faithful in our better or worse, in richer and poorer and in sickness and in health. So today I thank Breece for the 15 wonderful years we have shared and look forward to the next 15:)! Happy Anniversary!
