Counting Down...

the days until we pick Chandler up from camp.  We dropped him off at church camp on Sunday in East Texas and will pick him up tomorrow.  It has been a really long week!!  We left him with a huge smile on his face so filled with excitement while I had a huge lump in my throat and was fighting back tears.  In his short 9 years of life we have never gone 5 days in a row without talking to him.  I viewed pictures yesterday on the web and found him riding down the water slide with his arms held high and a huge smile.....we are obviously missing him more than he is missing us:)!  I can't wait to see him!

Disney Days...

We REALLY love Disney World!!  It is one our favorite places to go!!  Our kids could win a Disney trivia contest hands down!  When I mean trivia, I mean Chandler could tell you height requirements for most rides.  Today I found him on the computer checking out Disney World Tokyo....seriously?!?  He explained that he was comparing rides in Orlando and Tokyo.....only Chandler!  Breece and I often discuss how much we all enjoy Disney.  We have come to the realization that we love the fact that we get to be kids again while watching our kids experience it....what a neat opportunity to be in 2 time periods of your life in one place!!  Enjoy our latest Disney pics from May.  So, we proudly wear our mouse ears as we joyfully plan our next Disney trip......no it will not be to Tokyo!!

First and Ten.....

....and so many yards to go! I guess by now my football theme is evident. It is very appropriate for our family as we LOVE football....high school, college and professional. So what a great way to introduce us! Our team roster includes:

Team Owner: Jesus

Head Coach: Breece

Assistant Coach: Melissa

Starting QB: Chandler

Wide Receiver: Berkley

When considering our life I can't help but parallel it to a football game. To paint a visual, Breece and I are on the sidelines with our headsets attempting to coach our team. Chandler is always ready for a play to be called while Berkley is the one running wild down the field ready for the pass. Our team owner sits high up in the Press Box watching the game from a view we can not see on the field. Many times Jesus calls us on our headsets directing us to call a play for our team that makes absolutely no sense from the sidelines that we stand. Sometimes we feel capable of calling our own plays and are even guilty of turning our headsets off to our team owner up in the Press Box. Other times we are obedient in calling a play with the faith that His vantage point is greater than ours and He sees and knows things we do not!! The greatest thing we have learned from our years of coaching is that we remember our fumbles more than our touchdowns or victories. For we have come to realize that some of the dearest times with God are when we fumble!! So we are a team that looks at fumbles differently.....sometimes they make us laugh, sometimes they make us cry, sometimes they make us angry, but in the end they make us better because we have drawn closer to Christ. Don't get us wrong we like a good victory...but really we can't help but smile because the greatest victory has already occurred!!!
