5'6 or 6'5??

Either way you look at it one truth is known...Tennessee grows 'em good! Two of my favorite people are from Tennessee....Kenny Chesney and Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys (#82)! I had the wonderful opportunity to meet each of them this summer! One is considerably shorter than me and the other is considerably taller than me....nothing that a good pair of flats or pumps couldn't fix:)! I like Kenny because he represents summer....my favorite season...flip flops, beach memories, lake time, relax mode and a great tan! Summer is officially kicked off with a Kenny Chesney concert (this summer I actually made it to 2 of them:))! Jason Witten represents my favorite sport, a grounded family man, a great player with humility and just a plain 'ol "good guy". So here is to 5'6 and 6'5...the end of summer and the start of football:)!!

Dallas Cowboys Kick-Off

Friday was the official Kick-off for the Dallas Cowboys 2008 season!  Breece and I attended a luncheon (with his dad and sister) where the entire team and coaching staff were present to support their local charity Happy Hill Farm (www.happyhillfarm.org) .  I had a great time finding all my favorite players....I hardly ate as I was too wound up about trying to get some pictures! We made our way to the game that evening to cheer on our guys as they beat Houston 23-22 (we were alittle late because of Chandler's football practice but were still able to make it).  So here are a couple of shots from our fun football day.  The one of Tony Romo was great!

First Day of School...

It is so hard to believe that today is the 1st day of school. In so many ways if feels as if summer just flew by?! We always make a big deal on the first day of school, and today is no exception. Actually, this first day of school is extra special as it is the day we sent our baby to Kindergarten. What a bittersweet moment...our hearts so filled with pride and so filled with sorrow for how fast the time is slipping away! I have spent the day fighting back tears as I replay the precious memories of the past 5 years over and over in my mind! So I leave you with pictures of my precious 3rd grade and Kindergarten babies and the sweet note that Berkley's teacher gave me attached to a small pack of Kleenex as I quietly left the room this morning.

The First Day

I gave you a little wink and smile

As you entered my room today.

For I know how hard it is to leave

And know your child must stay.

You've been with her for five years now

And have been a loving guide,

But now, alas, the time has come

To leave her at my side.

Just know that as you drive away

And tears down your cheeks may flow

To take my child to class.
